Were of Angels and Cherubs to behold,

These Angelic forms with extended wings

Forever back to my childhood brings,

These words still echo, so few to be found

In my memories of mother, short-lived yet abound.

Hence to my own children I have passed on this lore.

When the sun begins to set, painting pink skies above

That’s the Angels baking in heaven with Love

This most magical of childhood dreams

Is as the world once was it seems.

If I could go back to yesteryear

It would be mother’s whispers to hear,

‘The Angels are baking in Heaven my dear.’
